Does social media for your practice scare you? Do you find use of social media for your business confusing? If you answered NO to both of these questions then congratulations!
If you answered YES, then you are not alone. I frequently talk with physicians and practice administrators about the use of social media in their practice. The majority admit they avoid social media. The predominant reasons are that their organization ‘won’t let them’, they don’t have time, they find all of the options confusing or they don’t feel it is necessary/helpful.
Over the past 10 years, we have evolved (for sure) and grown to LOVE social media at my husbands practice – the Center for Weight Loss Success. Why? It is a great way to engage with our patients, share valuable education in a fun way, highlight patient success, help patients overcome barriers to success, attract new patients and so much more. Now I get to help others do the same and it is awesome!
Growing pains are just that – painful! My husband, Tom, used to not even want to touch a computer (a necessary evil). However, now he runs his own weekly podcasts, webinars, livecasts and more for his practice. Patients get to know him before they ever meet him and we can stay connected with patients no matter where how close or far away they live. Our team is an integral part of making it all happen consistently (thank you). Having systems in place (and a creative mind) and NOT tackling every social media outlet at the same time is critical to success.
I have an exciting Weight Loss Practice Builder monthly membership to help you build or enhance your weight loss practice launching soon so stay tuned. In the meantime, what’s working in your practice with all things social media?
